The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf would be my all time favorite coffee shop. It's got a wide range of cakes-some of which can't be found elsewhere-and what can be better, in my hometown it's always 50% off with the usage of certain credit card. 

Chocolate Fudge-Rp32.000 ($3.5)

Chocolate fudge is an all time favorite and one of the best selling cakes. The chocolate flavor is really rich. The cake texture was kind of hard and rather rough than spongy. The thick chocolate cream applied in between the two layers of cake is awesome. Love this cake so much I think I can eat this every day and still want more.

'My Mom's' Scone - Rp 24.500 ($2.5)

Chosen this scone for take away. It was packed in a beautiful paper bag along with a small pack of butter and jam. The scone was not like what I had supposed it to be at the first bite. But it gets better at the second and following bites. I found traces of raisins in it. It was buttery and really rough.

Red Temptation cake Rp 32.000 ($3.5)

The friendly waiter claimed that this cake is made from red sweet potato. The red colour was not as brilliant as red velvet cupcakes, but it stands out among the other cakes in the showcase. I decided to give it a try. The taste of the cake was just so so but i really love the cream cheese (the yellow ones in the picture) I'm a cheese lover! But I think it's very healthy as sweet potato contains lots of essential nutrients.

Chocolate Marshmallow Cake Rp 32.000 ($3.5)

Chocolate Marshmallow Cake is absolutely elegant and delicate. I had this for breakfast and it's like I was cherishing every single bite.. The chocolate ganache topping is fantastic, it is not too sweet, and it is thick and flavorful. The marshmallow pieces is even more fluffier than the usual marshmallow. The double layers of both the chocolate cake and the hmm.. chocolate cream, NICE!

Carrot Cake Rp 32.000 ($3.5)

This cake is so unpredictably sweet and super duper delicious. It has a strong cinnamon flavor. The cake is sweet and loaded with jelly like carrots. I have no idea how they processed the carrot shreds to such a chewy texture. The cream cheese layer is also sweet and cheesy. The carrot on top is made of cream cheese I would say, but has a stronger taste.
