Bobabits PIK

Bobabits is a restaurant near my neighborhood, selling -the now trending- bubble tea and fried foods. It has a various choices for the tea itself- milk tea, chocolate tea, some fruit teas, etc. For the food, there are fried chicken cutlets, fried mushrooms, fried sweet potatoes... The interior of the medium scaled restaurant is youthful and lively, dominated with green color.

Menu

Chocolate Hazelnut Bubble tea (Rp. 23000/ US$2.5)
The chocolate hazelnut tea is not as nice as I expected, and it has no flavor of hazelnut at all. I chose small boba, and it was like half the size of the usual boba found elsewhere. Some of the people claimed that this resto has got the best bubble tea in town, so I was guessing that I ordered the wrong thing, as my beverage was rather bland.

Milk Bubble Tea (Rp 23.000/US$2.5)
Fried Chicken ( Rp 28.000/US$3)

The fried chicken is really fantastic, even though the outside is rather dry, the chicken inside was still kind of juicy and succulent. The spices really made up a good flavor.
Fried Champs ( Rp23.000/US$2.5)

The fried champs was not as fancifully flavored as the chicken, but it was generous in amount and not that bad at all.

Milk Teaa

 @ Rp 21.000/ US$ 2.2

When I paid another visit to Bobabits, I ordered Oolong Milk Tea. And no, I don't finish the whole crate all by myself. Those are my brother's, cousins', etc... Most of us complained that the milk tea are rather flavourless, except for my brother. So I guess that some of us had just ordered the wrong thing. I would definitely go for coffee on my next visit, as the milk tea does not suit my taste at all-- it's not that strong in flavour, and it's got some sort of weird taste I can't explain.

But, Bobabits is really a nice place to chill out. The indoor is cozy while the outdoor section is really windy and has a fun concept with its paperbag chairs.

Sushi Tei

A very famous Sushi restaurant in Indonesia or the past few years. Even though some of the dishes are just usual, most of them are amazingly engaging you can't stop nibbling. For me personally, I am not really fascinated by the sushi served here, and preferred the other various stuffs in the menu.

some fried stuff, Maki sushi roll, and sushi

Tobiko Sushi

The fried stuff we ordered as appetizer are really nice. The fried salmon skin is crispy and savoury, and has a really tasty texture. The fried squid at the other hand is chewy, and slightly sweet. I would really really recommend everyone to try these.

Vivo City Snack Time

If you happened to be in Vivo City Singapore, why not refill your stomach with the various snacks located on the ground floor. There are peking duck, some fried stuffs, gelato, puffs, pies, cakes, and so on and so forth.. I tried the peking duck there and for me it just tastes as nice as those sold in the big Chinese restaurants, but with the duck meat.
Peking Duck S$6 (US$4.50)

Really love the wrappings. The duck inside is quite crunchy with some skin still on. The sauce is sweet and generous. The cucumber is juicy and fresh. I can eat boxes of these everyday.

BBQ Pork-same price with the duck

The pork has a crunchy outer layer and a meaty and juicy inner layer. NYUM!

Fruit Paradise Cafe-Singapore

This epic yet elegant cafe is located in one of the most crowded malls in Singapore, Vivo City. I was surprised by how artsy the cafe was decorated in. The cakes, or Giant Fruit Tarts I should say, are beautifully arranged in an etalase besides the entrance. When I stare at those Tarts, I got that feeling like 'I wanna try every single one of it'. But , those are a little bit pricey though.

This place is perfect for hanging out with friends as well as evening tea with family. The servants are so friendly!

The Brochure Menu

                                                     Mango Pie (S$7.80/US$6)
Mango tart pie, look at the enormous layer of fresh cream with generous chunks of peaches, I fantasized myself immersed in eating it while I was on the counter. The lower pastry is crunchy and buttery. The fruits in it are so sweet.

Seasonal Fruit Pie (S$7.80/US$6)

For me personally, this is the best pie among the other I ever tasted. It has a cheesy thick cream layer, which makes up a good flavor and blended well with the fruits on top. Amazingly, I could find plums, pomelos, blackberries and others on top. The dragon fruits are really sweet.

Mixed Fruit Pie (S$7.80/US$6)

Mixed Fruit Pie is thicker than seasonal fruit pie, but the cream is not cheesy. It's sort of vanilla flavored whipped cream. So, if you eat this after eating seasonal fruit pie, it would be rather bland.

Mocha Frappie (Rp38.ooo/US$4)

So it was on one hot afternoon when we decided to chill out after lunch. After quite a moment of considering what to order, my decision fell to this mocha frappie. Mixture of chocolate and coffee. Nice one, as I could easily be affected with the caffeine in coffees. The blended ice is mixture of normal ice and some coffee ice I guess, as it was sweet and has got the flavor of coffee. The beverage below the blended ice is so thick and the taste of the mocha still lingered on my mouth after I finished drinking it.

Smokey Ribs

Smokey Ribs is located at Pantai Indah Kapuk, just a few minutes drive from Waterbom PIK. It is a western restaurant offering one of the best ribs in the area. I'm not a huge fan of ribs though, but I could say that the ribs here are very flavorful and worth to try. It offers two types of ribs- pork ribs and beef ribs. Pork rib has more fats and the texture is softer than beef ribs. And it has got more meats too. Other than ribs, a lot more western delicacies are available there.

Cream Soup

I love cream soup! And this one adds up to the list of my favorite cream soups.

Fried calamari rings

The portion of the calamari rings might not be the most generous in town, but that's what makes a good appetizer, right?

Potato skin

NICE! The bite-size potato skins are totally covered up with cheddar cheese and sprinkled with some dried bacon pieces. The sour cream kind of match up with the potato skin, but if you don't like sour cream it would give a really weird taste.

Beef ribs

The beef ribs is served with one choice of side dish plus coleslaw. The sauce comes in a few choices as usual- BBQ, mushroom, etc. I could tell that the beef ribs has been well marinated before it was being grilled. The flavor is so GREAT!

Tenderloin Steak

The tenderloin steak is juicy (well it depends on how it was cooked, and this one is medium) and lightly flavored to give out the real taste of the beef. Like the ribs, it was served with a choice of sauce and side dish along with cooked vegetables.

Fish and Chips with tar tar sauce

The fish is not really special, it was just like any other fish and chips you could find in any other restaurants. Not that it was not nice, it's really nice indeed. The crunch and the fish is well cooked inside. But if you are visiting Smokey Ribs, I would reccomend you to pick the grill fish.

Pink Panther

This beverage comes in a pitcher, so the taste wasn't that thick. It's soda with some strawberry syrup I think, but it really goes well with the foods.

Han Gang

Han Gang is a Korean restaurant located in some malls. It's one of my favorite Korean restaurant and it is also the first Korean restaurant I visited in Jakarta. It offers a variety of Korean food which I am pretty sure suits everybody's taste.
Squid Bibimbap Rp 48.000 (US$5)

The chilli paste is sweet and slightly spicy. There are fresh cucumbers, chilli pieces, and carrots. The squids are really generous. It's served on a hot stone pot, so it would still be warm until you finish up. It's really really nice and I just love the flavor. Well, it's indescribeable.

Complimentary Appetizer

The complimentary appetizer varies in amount and variety. It depends on the number of customers. There are soy sauce small potato, kimchi (pickled cabbage), cold cooked spinach, fried small fish, etc..

Tteopoki Rp 38.000 (US$4)

Tteopoki is Korean rice cake. This version got chunks of really nice and firm rice cakes, instant noodle, vegetables and sauce. The taste is very strong and savory. The sauce is thick.
