TOUS les JOURS
A French styled bakery new in town! It offered a variety of breads and cakes, most of which we could have seen before. I tried the Magdalene, it was not really a Magdalene.. It's more of a soft texture, just like chiffon cake. I was hoping it to be crunchier and more buttery, it was quite expensive I think, but anyways, it tastes good and kind of addictive I just can't stop munching!

Chicken Village
Fascinated by the Beggar's Chicken in the menu book, we decided to have our dinner here. Beggar's chicken is absolutely a time consuming dish. Thus when this dish is sold out, the customers would have to wait for a long time to have this dish on their plate. So, we somehow arrived at the right time, and this chicken came only a few minutes after we ordered.
Beggar's Chicken
I was quite amazed that the outer layer of clay to cover the chicken is beautifully carved even though it's going to be smashed into pieces. That's right. After this dish arrived at our table, the servant brought a hammer along, breaking the outer clay layer, revealing a fragrant chicken meat which had been cooked thoroughly-- probably overnight. The taste of the chicken meat is just amazing, It was so soft that I can just swallow it without biting. The flavor was really nice too.

Taiwan Dian Xin
Taiwan Dian Xin is a small cafe-like restaurant in Pluit Village. It offers Taiwan night street snacks, such as crispy chicken, popcorn chicken, crispy corn, fried sweet potato, fried mushrooms, bubble tea and others..
Fried Sweet Potato Rp 16.000/ US$ 1.8
The sweet potato is another striking dish. I had ever tried this in another place, but it doesn't taste as good as this. The sweet potato here is really really sweet, and they use plum powder which just combines nicely with the crispy sweet potato.
Crispy Chicken is one of the most famous snack in Taiwan itself. The one here is crispy, but because it has too much flour, not all of it fried to perfection. But I would say it really taste delicious, the chicken is quite thick.
I did not order any drinks though, but they gave free sample drink, and when I taste it it was really good, refreshing, and it just smells good. It was some sort of flavoured tea the drink that I tasted last time.

port er house PIK
Port er house is a western resto with a cozy outlook. With an open bar, wide outdoor space and such an engaging interior design, it definitely is a place to see and to be seen.
Not only does it has a outstanding design, friendly service, but its choices of foods are so various and mouthwatering.
Lemon Tea
The lemon tea is served with lime sorbet. Well, me and my cousins were quarreling about whether it is ice cream, as my cousin insisted that it was gulali (some sort of traditional Indonesian sweet candy cotton). But no it wasn't. we asked the waiter and he claimed that it is sorbet.
The menu book
The country designed menu book just boosted our appetite. The random food scribble in it are just simple but mouthwatering.
Penne Carbonara
The carbonara sauce is not overflowing, but the penne still taste really nice because the sauce, even in a small amount, gave out such a strong taste. If you look carefully, you might find a few uncooked spaghetti sticks. I guessed those are roasted spaghetti, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. And, because I have never tried it before, it taste nice. Hahah
Penne Tri Colore
Well, I didn't try this dish, it belongs to my aunt or uncle.. (actually the penne carbonara belongs to my brother but I just took a few spoons.. Just curious..hehe)
Mushroom Soup
I only managed to get a few spoons of this thick, heartwarming soup, as my cousin finishes it up so quickly :( Anyways, it really is nice. I love love looovee the strong mushroom taste. And actually I got to finish the garlic bread but it was hard, but is still very edible.

Zenbu
Zenbu is a Japanese family restaurant. Its speciality is a dish named Mozaru, butter or curry rice topped with a selection of meat, then covered with mozzarella cheese with a choice of dynamite, butter, or tomato. Its other dishes are sumptuous too. The interior might not be the most majestic, but it brings out a friendly atmosphere.
The menu book-- so mouthwatering!
Cheeze Tofu Rp 25.000/ US$ 2.8
Well, I didn't expect this dish too be so cheesy, but it really has a generous amount of mozzarella I would have to say. The fried tofu/ beancurd inside is so soft.
Donburi
At my last visit here I tried Hamburg donburi, but I didn't take a picture last time, so I took one in the menu book on this visit. The hamburger is so meaty and it's topped with sweet and thick mayonnaise. It might not be the nicest hamburg dish I ever tasted, but it's nice anyways.
Hotmix Rp55.000/ US$ 6
Hotmix sushi are stuffed with minced fresh salmon in a spicy sauce, and is topped with a thin slice of cheese. It's like bursting out all he flavour when I put it into my mouth for the first time. But the second ite doesn't taste as nice as the first ones though. I found it pricey, but is really worth to try.
Free Ocha
Unagi Don Rp 65.000/ US$7
Unagi, barbequed eel is possibly everyone's favorite japanese dish. This serving of unagi is really generous. The unagi tastes nice too, and the thin slices of the egg, mmm...
